Sustainability and energy efficiency program

Batz + Burgel was founded 30 years ago. Since then, we have developed into a specialist in this field and established ourselves as a system partner for customers in the metal and façade construction, vehicle and mechanical engineering, electronics and electrical industries.

Then as now, as an owner-managed family business, we think across generations; our long-standing strategy has always focused on continuous development and sustainable action. This also includes responding to the challenges associated with climate change. At Batz + Burgel, we took on these challenges years ago. Our commitment to environmental protection is reflected in a comprehensive sustainability and energy efficiency program that combines innovative technologies and conscious action.

Innovative measures for a greener future

Over ten years ago, we built our company building as an energy-efficient house with a basic energy consumption that is 30% below the standard, thus significantly reducing our energy consumption. We have supplemented these measures by installing an efficient infrared radiant heating system in our production hall, which has resulted in our office wing being heated with virtually no energy consumption.

Our pursuit of sustainability is also reflected in the active promotion of renewable energies. Our own solar installation on our company premises with an annual output of 100,000 kilowatts and the provision of wallboxes for electric cars are concrete steps that we have taken to further improve our carbon footprint and support electromobility(watch the video | ChargeX).

Vision for the future: sustainability and efficiency

We will continue to take further steps in the future to make our contribution to a more climate-friendly tomorrow. We have set ourselves the ambitious goal of reducing our primary energy consumption by 5% each year. We also want to increase the proportion of solar energy we use for our own consumption from the current 65% to 80% and reduce production waste by 10% each year. In order to achieve these goals, we work with experienced energy consulting companies and carry out regular energy measurements.

Another important aspect of our program is the involvement of our employees. We use targeted training and awareness-raising measures to promote the awareness and active participation of everyone involved in our sustainability initiative.
